Colorado Rockies Sweatshirt by Pink

I love getting new Rockies gear almost as much as I love the Rockies themselves. And I've been lusting after this awesome Rockies half zip jacket by Victoria's Secret for weeks now. Finally, I splurged: I ordered this baby and it's on it's way to my house. I can't WAIT to wear it to my next game. It's so perfect for a cool evening at Coors Field. AND it's way cuter than any of the sweatshirts that they sell at the pro shop. I love the shimmery silver and the metallic purple! This Saturday night's game is going to be the PERFECT place to show off my new digs - say hi if you'll be there!

Next Up On The Rockies Schedule

Have you been missing the Rockies as much as I have with all of these away games? Then you'll be happy to hear that they're coming back this coming weekend to host not one, not two but THREE home series at Coors Field. That means lots and lots of time to spend at the ballpark checking out my favorite team. Here's a look at what's coming up next on the Rockies schedule:

This coming Friday through Sunday (April 27th through April 29th) the Rockies take on the New York Mets.
Next Monday through Wednesday (April 30th through May 2nd) they take on the sunny side of the country: the Los Angeles Dodgers will be in town.
And next Friday through Sunday (May 4th through 6th) They take on the Atlanta Braves in a must-see match up.

I'm definitely going to make it out for the Braves series, but will probably make it to at least a game or two between the Mets and Dodgers games as well. Happy April - and happy baseball season!

Finding Cheap Rockies Tickets and Games That Fit Our Schedule

Heck yeah, last week was pretty awesome. Tons of Rockies games and lots of action down at Coors Field made this gal pretty darn happy. Brought the hubs and also got the kids to a game on Sunday - they had such a blast. Sometimes I think people forget that Rockies games are an awesome place to bring the family. I mean, they're not like the games on the Broncos schedule. Fans are polite, there's not as much drinking, and it's just generally a family friendly environment. If I could afford it, I would definitely get some season tickets for the whole family to check out every game on the Rockies schedule! But that's just not in the cards for us, financially or time wise. In fact, there's not a ton of families that I know that could actually MAKE IT to all the 84 home games this 2012 Rockies season. Which is why finding my Rockies tickets online has proven to be the best way for our family to make it to as many games as we possibly can. You can find great prices and pick only the games that fit your schedule - no "partial" season ticket package is ever going to fit perfectly with our schedule. Plus, when I can find a game that has Rockies tickets for below face value, it's like an extra deal - slash more money to spend on cotton candy and treats for the kids. What are YOUR tips for saving money and time when you want to head to a game on the Rockies schedule?

Happy Rockies Home Opener

Did you miss out on the Rockies Home Opener? Awe, come on man! Just kidding. No worries. There's plenty of other games this week on the Rockies schedule that you can check out to be a part of the Home Opener season kick off week. So get yourself to a game. In fact, bring the wife. Bring the kids! Or take a night out with your friends and enjoy some baseball, brats and beer. Sounds like the perfect evening to me! You can check them out against the Giants on Wednesday night ant Thursday afternoon (perfect for taking an early day from work - hey, you deserve it!). Or check them out against the Diamondbacks on Friday and Saturday nights or Sunday afternoon, a game that would be perfect for getting the kids out of the house for a few hours. However you make it, just make sure to grab some Rockies tickets and get yourself to a game THIS WEEK!

Victorias Secret Pink and the Colorado Rockies

Ok, I'll admit it. I might have a slight obsession with the Victoria's Secret line of Colorado Rockies clothing items. Slash with all of their items for Major League Baseball. Because they're adorable and amazing, all at the same time. I have some of their stuff from last year and from the NFL line, and it's seriously soft. The fit is seriously perfect. And I seriously LURVE this Colorado Rockies t-shirt. The deep V-neck (yes, you do have to wear a tank with it), the perfect printing on the front and the lovely PLAY BALL! on the back - it makes me want to head out to a game right now! And now I'm super pumped for the start of the 2012 Rockies season.

Spring Training and the Home Opener on the Colorado Rockies Schedule

The Colorado Rockies schedule for Spring Training is almost through. Which means that the Home Opener is almost here! And if you don't have your hands on some pretty spectacular home opener seats (or just some seats to get in the door), you'd better get on your game. From what I've seen while scouring sites online, the inventory for the game that kicks of the season on April 9th are moving FAST. Don't get caught outside the gates of Coors Field. Order your seats before you can't find any!

Colorado Rockies for St. Patty's Day

Oh yes my friends, I am all set for this Saturday's big day: the Saint Patrick's Day festivities, that is! I found this ADORABLE Colorado Rockies shirt made ESPECIALLY for this holiday. Obviously I had to have it. Just grab expedited shipping, and you can have one too! I love the little smiley on the front with the Rockies logo and the clover (although why they didn't make it a 4 leaf clover beats me). And obvi, I AM the Rockies good luck charm, so the back is very fitting, too! Love it!

Rockies Roster: Pitcher Alex White in T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Did you hear the news? Specifically, the news the Colorado Rockies roster man Alex White is in some major trouble with the Scottsdale police? Obviously down in the area for Spring Training, the Rockies pitcher was arrested on Saturday night for driving with a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit in Arizona - .174. This is considered to be an EXTREME DUI, and carries a minimum 30 day jail sentence, but White could also face probation, loss of his driver's license and a $2500 fine. All in all that seems pretty lenient for such a potentially serious offense. This guy could have KILLED someone, athlete or not. Sounds like not only is Alex White in trouble, but that Scottsdale could use some serious tightening of the old punishment for extreme DUIs. Just a thought.

Colorado Rockies Gear for the Upcoming Colorado Rockies Season

The Colorado Rockies season is fast approaching, and it's high time to invest in some new Colorado Rockies gear. Like this awesome Rockies t-shirt! I love the plum color, the vintage appeal and the sporty striping. The v-neck is a little low, but nothing a little under cami can't fix. Loves it!

Colorado Rockies Spring Training

Did you know that the OFFICIAL start of the Colorado Rockies Spring Training schedule is just around the corner? That's right, it's just a week and a half away. And with the official Colorado Rockies home opener more than a month away, a little spring roadtrip to Spring Training in Arizona is just what the doctor ordered. Sunshine, pool time and hanging out at the ballpark sounds like just the break this chick has been looking for. If you're a super Rockies fan (like me), then you definitely should be considering the same thing. Hey, a little fun in the sun is good for everybody once in a while!

Colorado Rockies: Spring Training 2012

Guess what fellow Rockies fans? It is a WEEK until the Colorado Rockies roster reports to Spring Training in Scottsdale. ONE WEEK! While word's been mum on who is predicted to make that March 3rd Spring Training opening roster, I can tell you that I'll be taking a long "spring break" weekend in March to go check out how the team is shaping up. There's just something about a little "pre-season" baseball and peanuts that gets you out of the winter dull and geared up for the summer time FUN that goes hand in hand with Rockies baseball. Speaking of Rockies baseball, now that we're almost to that April 9th Home Opener, what games are you most looking forward to this season? My list, for April.

April 9th: home opener, duh.
April 13th: The first Friday game of the season: hey-o tailgate.
April 27th: Vs. New York Mets. Loves it.

New to the Colorado Rockies Roster: Pitcher Jeremy Guthrie

Man, these last couple of weeks before Spring Training are just filled with trades and acquisitions for the Colorado Rockies roster, aren't they? Just today we nabbed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie from the Baltimore Orioles. In exchange for Guthrie, we traded out starter Jason Hammell and reliever Matt Lindstrom - oh, and did I mention that Guthrie came with a price tag of $8.2 million for this season? Because he did. But I guess that's the price you have to pay for a solid, multi-inning pitcher, right? Doesn't hurt that he's super yummy, either...

And in other news, Matt Belisle came to terms with the Colorado Rockies and will be sticking around for another couple of years - with a two year contract and $4.35 million.

Sounds like the Colorado Rockies roster is shaping up before Spring Training. Which means ROCKIES SEASON is just around the corner!

Four Rockies Players Land on MLB's Top 100 List

Good news for the impending Colorado Rockies season: we just had FOUR players from the Colorado Rockies roster that landed on the MLB.com Top 100 Prospects list.

#22: Nolan Arenado is rated the best third base prospect in the league. We chose him as a second round pick in 2009, and he continued to show serious power improvements in 2011.

#24: Drew Pomeranz was rated the fifth-best left pitcher prospect in the league. We nabbed this one in 2011 in a trade with the Cleveland Indians for Ubaldo Jimenez. As a first round pick, this kid could be a number 2 starter sometime this season.

#63: Wilin Rosario was rated the fifth-best catching prospect in the league. It's undeniable that this kind has a huge amount of straight power, but also needs to develop a stronger grasp of the strike zone. He still needs to make some progress, but I could see him getting called up for a couple of games towards the end of the season.

#66: Chad Bettis has a strong, high-quality pitch with his fastball and slider, but is also somewhat inconsistent and needs a stronger change up. If he could really harness those key skills in the first half of the season, he could get called up later this season.

Marco Scutaro Now Part of Colorado Rockies Roster

Traded from the Boston Red Sox, we have officially acquired shortstop Marco Scutaro to the Colorado Rockies roster! He's also had stints with the New York Mets, the Oakland Athletics and the Toronto Blue Jays. Scutaro has a batting average of .270. He was traded for Clayton Mortensen. Originally from Venezuela, Scutaro spent seven seasons in theminor leagues before landing a starting position in 2004. He set career highs last year with the Red Sox, inclujding 150 games, 632 at-bats, 100 runs, 14 stolen bases and 90 walks.

So what does all this mean for the Colorado Rockies?

Well: over the past three years, Scutaro has consistently set new career records. Meaning that if the trend holds, he will have even better play this season as part of the Rockies roster. Just another reason to be pumped up for the 2012 Rockies Season!

Rockies Off Season Moves. And Opening Day.

Things about the Colorado Rockies that I am excited about today:
  • Seth Smith has been re-signed to the Colorado Rockies. In a one year, $2.4 million deal. While that's some serious dough, he's an asset that we definitely need to keep around to stay viable for the playoffs. ROCKTEMBER BABY!
  • Rockies Fest 2012 is this weekend. I've got my list, checked it twice. I'm headed to the autographs table, folks.
  • Opening day is April 9th - did you buy Rockies tickets for this game yet? I sure did. Missing out on the first day of the season would be a serious bummer. And if you seriously don't want to go, at least head out to a tailgate or host a bbq to watch the game. Fan support is what this team needs!

Rockies Fest 2012

Well guys, it's January, which means we're finally to 2012. And just one step closer to the start of the Colorado Rockies 2012 season! I'm so excited that I might just pee my pants. Seriously. Well, not really. But I do lurve me some Colorado Rockies. Anyway: coming up this month is the annual Rockies Fest at Coors Field. This year, it's TWO days: January 21st and 22nd. Check out the schedule on the Rockies site: 2012 Rockies Fest. I'm making my plan of attack right now: between the autographs that I want to get, the Family Feud games and the Q&As, I'm thinking that this will be the best Rockies Fest I've been to yet. See you guys there!
